Dan, Director, ActiveRx (Gold Coast)My name is Dan. I’m the director of ActiveRx here on the Gold Coast. We’re an exercise physiology business doing in-person, one-on-one training. We specialise in pain rehab: doing exercise one-on-one with people to get them out of pain, while also prescribing home programs for them to do at home to keep them accountable.I’ve been using Clinic1 for two months now, and I want to go over all the benefits I’ve seen, as well as some things I reckon should change.

Pro’sFirst, ease of use for both the patients and the practitioners.Second, the AI scribe and GP letter template. It’s so easy to use and honestly saves me hours each week.Next is the ability for patients to book, reschedule or change their appointments themselves.Next are memberships. People have recurring memberships each week, so they know their appointments are set in stone and can’t be booked out.Next are the SOAP note templates. I spent about half an hour at the start making a really good template, and it’s done wonders for me since I started using the scribe. It captures exactly what I want to record from each session, so the notes are top quality. If I’m passing a client on to a new practitioner, they know every detail they need to take that client on.

The switch from Halaxy to Clinic1 was honestly very simple. Elliot, the owner of Clinic1, was so helpful. If I ever needed urgent help, he was a dial away, and he would always answer and give me a hand. They walked me through the whole process, and within a week I was set up on Clinic1. It was great.I used Halaxy for about six months. It was good and did what it needed to do, but there were a lot of hidden fees you didn’t really know about. Halaxy kind of just did the bare minimum. I could book people myself, but I probably spent two to three hours a week of my own time calling people, rescheduling, cancelling and following up appointments. That got annoying and wasted my time. I’d rather spend my time on the floor with people, helping them with their exercise.Since switching to Clinic1, I save probably two to three hours a week, because clients book their own sessions and can make changes themselves.

In terms of support, Elliot has been really helpful. I can call him whenever I need, and he makes sure I get the assistance I need if anything is bugging me or I have any deeper questions.Communication is really important to me. I’ve worked with software before where something has gone wrong and I’ve needed help, but it takes them a week to get back to me, when often I need urgent help. Clinic1 has never taken longer than an hour to get back to me. It’s honestly amazing.

Those are some of the pros, but here are the honest cons: it’s saved me too much money, and it’s saved me too much time. But honestly, one thing I’d recommend Clinic1 improve is adding a check-in system. I’ve actually mentioned this to Elliot, bringing on a check-in system so our clients stay accountable even outside our sessions. He’s already taking that on board and looking into bringing it on in the future. That’s one of the main things I love about Clinic1: I can suggest ideas or ask about things, and they’re always willing to hear us out to make the practitioner and patient experience as good as possible.

A feature of Clinic1 I really liked was the GP referral template. I spent about half an hour to 45 minutes building a really structured template for GP care plan referrals and progress updates. I filled in all the prompts I wanted, and then I could click on the appointment and the AI scribe would fill out that template automatically. Again, that saves me hours each week. The quality of my GP letters also improved, because the letters are up to my standard: I choose the prompts it follows.

In terms of exact numbers, we were getting cancellations every single week. On average, our clinic runs about 130 sessions per week, and about 10 to 15% would cancel each week. Because of the membership and rebooking system in Clinic1, I think our cancellation rate is down to about 5%. That’s saved me money and held our patients more accountable, which means they get better results. So it’s a win-win.
